[05] Questions

Good to know.

What is a cash-flow forecast?

A plan of the money you expect to come in and go out over the coming weeks or months. It shows your likely bank balance ahead of time, so you can spot shortfalls early.

Why do I need one if I am profitable?

Profit and cash are not the same. Customers pay late, tax bills come in lumps and costs go out before income arrives. A profitable business can still run short of cash.

How far ahead does it look?

Usually three to twelve months. If cash is tight, we can look week by week for the next few weeks.

Will it include my tax bills?

Yes. VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and Self Assessment payments are all built in, so you can put money aside in good time.

What if my books are not up to date?

We can catch them up first. We can also start from your bank statements to get a quick picture while the books are sorted.
