[05] Questions

Good to know.

How much does an accountant cost?

Less than you might think. Sole traders start from as little as £20 a month and limited companies from as little as £70 a month. Your exact price depends on what you need, and you get it after the free call, before we start.

What are the main deadlines for a limited company?

Accounts are due at Companies House nine months after your year end. Corporation Tax is usually payable nine months and one day after your year end, and the tax return is due twelve months after it. We track all of these for you.

When is the Self Assessment deadline?

Online tax returns and any tax owed are due by 31 January after the end of the tax year, which runs to 5 April.

What is Making Tax Digital for Income Tax?

Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send HMRC quarterly updates from April 2026. The threshold falls to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028. We set you up and send the updates for you.

Can I switch from my current accountant?

Yes, at any time. We contact your old accountant for the records we need, so you do not have to have an awkward conversation.

Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?

It depends on your profits, your plans and how you want to take money out. We run the numbers for both and explain the difference simply.
